Colour Selection and “ICC”
“ICC” stands for “International Colour Code” and is a system of describing hair colour using a number and letter in an effort to ensure hair colours are consistent around the world. The numbers range from 1 (darkest) to 10 (lightest) followed by letters that describe the character of the colour. The colour images below are an indication of colour only and may appear differently on other computer monitors, and on your hair. For maximum grey coverage use the “Natural” colours 1N – 8N.
Because of the more natural method used by Tints of Nature, the colour of the hair can only be lifted by one shade (meaning you can only lighten your hair by one level). You may wish to use our Lightening and Highlighting Kits.
The Tints of Nature colours can be mixed together to create your own shades. Always consider your skin tone, the colour of your eyes, as well as the predominant colours in your wardrobe before choosing your new hair colour. Here are a few handy hints to get you started:
1. If you are mixing two colours with different base numbers together, you will usually end up with a base shade somewhere in the middle, for example, if you mix together 3N and 5N, you will achieve a 4N.
2. The ash shades (4C, 6C and 8C) are ideal for counteracting red tones in red.
3. Remember to measure colours accurately for the best result.
