Avoid potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. These are all nightshade vegetables which contain solanine. Solanine is known to cause joint and muscle pain in some individuals.

Limit red meat, dairy and hydrogenated fats and oils.

Eat more oily fish, garlic, onion, pineapple, brown rice, nuts and seeds and fibre rich foods.

Get regular gentle exercise. Swimming can work wonders for achy muscles and joints.

Make sure you spend a few minutes each day outside in the sun (providing it is shining of course!). Vitamin D is essential for bone health. Sun exposure on the arms and legs for 10 minutes each day is enough. Avoid peak burning times. Before 10am and after 4pm are the best.
