Antioxidants play a beneficial role in the prevention of disease and in slowing down the aging process. They do this by protecting our bodies from harmful free radicals which are formed by exposure to things such as cigarette smoke, polluted air, household chemicals, exposure to the sun's rays and even exercise.
Choosing an antioxidant formula can be daunting so we have included below a brief list of some antioxidants and some of the body parts/functions that correlate with each one. If you have no particular health concerns that need to be addressed, but you still want to include antioxidants in your health regime, (which we highly recommend) you may like to choose a general antioxidant formula, or take a look through your family history for any 'dis-ease' trends. If there is a history of cardiovascular problems in the family, you might like to supplement with an antioxidant Co Q10. For a family history with diabetes, Alpha-Lipoic Acid would be a good choice.
